From park homes to prefabs, most properties can benefit from energy-efficiency measures

YOU MIGHT be surprised to learn that even non-traditional properties can benefit from some form of energy-efficiency promoting measure.

People living in park homes, post-war prefabricated houses and buildings with a timber or steel frame should all look at ways to improve energy consumption in order to feel warmer and cut heating bills.

The Department for Communities and Local Government has recently said that 70 per cent of homes in total could benefit from making improvements to energy efficiency – and this figure includes those living in more unconventional properties.

Here at Noreus, we find that people often make assumptions about their homes, believing that they are not suitable for measures such as insulation because of the perceived difficulty of installation.

However, external wall insulation is certainly one method that can be used for park homes.

Park homes do have their own particular issues – most are not connected to mains gas and also people tend to purchase electricity via the site owners.

All of this means – and it’s exactly the same principle whatever sort of property you live in – that it’s important to conserve what heat you do produce to improve efficiency, cut bills and feel warmer.

Our message is that there is always something that can be done.
