Enjoy a warm swimming pool all year round thanks to the power of renewable energy.
An air source heat pump from Noreus not only allows you to heat your pool 365 days a year but it’s environmentally friendly too.
Here’s how our swimming pool heating works
We love finding green solutions for homeowners who want to unlock the potential of their property.
If you’ve invested in an indoor swimming pool, you might be looking for an efficient and reliable way to heat the water all year round. Unfortunately, it can become a real drain on your pocket. A swimming pool is costly and many traditional pool heaters just aren’t up to the job.
That’s where a brilliantly clever and energy efficient air source heat pump really works.
It’s a little bit like an air conditioning unit, except it operates in reverse. Air source heat pumps work by absorbing heat from the atmosphere, which in turn is used to warm the water in an indoor or outdoor swimming pool to a wonderfully luxurious temperature of up to 30C.
Although an air source heat pump requires electricity to run and reach the required temperature, for every unit of electricity consumed, four units of heat energy is produced – meaning it’s an incredibly energy efficient and cost-effective method to heat your swimming pool.
It’s also a great choice to heat outdoor swimming pools during the summer months.
What’s more, when combined with our solar thermal solutions, you could save even more money.

Swimming Pool Heating FAQs
Yes, you generally need a solar collector equivalent to 50% of the pool surface area.
Yes, an air source heat pump is the system of choice for most swimming pool owners.
Solar thermal systems capture the energy of the sun which means they work best during the sunnier summer months. However, there are still significant cost savings to be made when compared with traditional pool heaters.
As such, these are still a great choice and provide a great, all-year round solution when combined with other renewable systems such as an air source heat pump.
If you use an air source heat pump and/or solar thermal system to solely heat your swimming pool, then you won’t qualify. However, if you also use it to provide heating for the rest of your home, under the current scheme, you can apply for the RHI, which generates a quarterly payment for seven years.
