Act now to avoid renewable heat incentive changes

ACT now if you want to avoid a shake-up to the Renewable Heat Incentive.

The Government backed financial incentive provides a quarterly payment for seven years on qualifying renewable heating solutions including solar thermal systems and biomass boilers.

However, it is reported that the Department for Climate and Energy Change has proposed a cut to the biomass tariffs, as well as taking solar thermal systems out of the scheme from 2017.

Here at Noreus, we know that with or without the RHI, renewable heating systems are a good choice for anyone who wants to cut their carbon footprint.

What’s more, installing these measures can save homeowners money in the long term.

With solar thermal panels, once the cost of installation has been recovered (and the price of installation has come down significantly), solar energy is completely free.

Meanwhile, although there is an ongoing fuel cost with biomass boilers, this is still a highly competitive way to heat your home.

However, if you think of the RHI as the icing on the cake, now is the time to invest – BEFORE any changes to tariffs and qualifying systems.
