Take action now to combat air pollution

HEALTH campaigners have praised a key vote which set out national limits on air pollution across Europe.

The European Parliament looked at measures on whether or not to introduce greater restrictions on pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and particulate matter (PM2.5) in order to cut emissions by 70% across the EU and save €40bn in air pollution costs by 2030.

The vote, which went before MEPs on October 28, came in the wake of the Volkswagen emissions scandal.

Some critics have said the measures do not go far enough as the limits are still above the levels recommended by the World Health Organisation.

Here at Noreus, we would encourage people to taking preventative measures to stop external air pollution seeping inside the home.

Having a well-insulated home is one of the best ways of keeping out air pollutants.

Insulation is ideal in the roof if, for example, you live by a motorway or next to traffic lights – in fact anywhere where diesel vehicles stop and rev their engines.
